I have 2500 gallon koi pond with a Savio Standard Skimmer that has two built-in UV light compartments. The UV lights made by Savio are specifically fitted for the Savio skimmer and are dropped down into the skimmer's pre-drilled holes. Savio's greedy pricing on their UV lights led me to search for a cheaper option. These UV lights are slightly wider so I had to drill a larger diameter hole in order to fit them into the compartments. Within 2 days my water has cleared up significantly and the price was about 75% less than the Savio brand lights. I honestly didn't expect it to work as well as it did and the quality of the lights surpassed my expectations. I would definitely recommend these to other koi pond enthusiasts to get rid of "pea soup" water.
I have a 1000 gallon koi pond that was being taken over by string algae. I put this UV light in the filter housing and have left the light on since. About a month later and the algae problem is gone. I just hope the light lasts.
This item works! My fish pond water was pee soup green. Within a couple of days the water started clearing up to a brownish, now a week later it is crystal clear. I have two ponds with water fall that circulate through a filter. I placed the UV light in the pond with no fish to not hurt them. Worked like a charm.
Bought this product because I needed a quick fix and fast! Well it worked. Took a little longer than 2 days as others reported but it was my positioning that caused the slow turn around. Once I moved it into the main flow of water it cleared my 500 gallon pond in 24 hours. Crystal clear just like my 40 watt UV $275 light. I am buying another 1 before they run out!
OMG my pong went from green to clear in a week. Simply put it in front of the waterfall and it does the rest. My pond is 4ft deep and I can almost see my fish clearly.
